Accessing a MegabytesOne Hosting Account via FTP

NOTE: This example uses the Filezilla FTP client, but any modern FTP client will work. You can download a free copy of Filezilla at http://filezilla-project.org/.

Connecting to Your Site

Your FTP username is your admin username followed by the '@' symbol and then your domain name. For example, if you owned mydomain.com and your adming username was bob, your FTP user name would be [email protected].

Your FTP password is the same as your admin password.

To connect to your site before DNS records have propagated, use the server name mega.megabytesonline.net. Once DNS has been established, you can connect via ftp.yourdomain.com, where yourdomain.com is replaced with your actual domain name.

Your web site should be published to the mainwebsite_html folder. Only files placed in that folder will be accessible via a web browser. The shortcut will take you to /var/www/html, which is where your files should be published.
