Megabytes Sundial: Earned Time Off Tracking System
Megabytes Sundial (formerly known as eTOTS) is a web-based employee time off tracking and management system. Sundial is based on the system of ETO (Earned Time Off) where each employee holds a “balance” of time (expressed in hours) that can be used for time off. Sundial provides employees with a balance display and reports of time off requests.
Sundial provides supervisors with a request-approval system. When an employee sends a time off request, the request is placed in pending status and an email notification is sent to the employee's supervisor. The supervisor can then view the request and choose to approve or deny it. If approved, the request is then sent to either the second level supervisor or to the payroll administrator. Email notifications are also sent for these steps.
The payroll administrator receives requests that have been approved by the requestor's supervisors. The payroll administrator controls the effect of the request on the employee's balance.
Reports & Modules
Sundial supports custom-built modules to expand its functionality.
E.L.N.A.
ELNA is a Sundial module designed to provide background tracking for network logon/logoff events. ELNA uses a combination of Group Policy scripts in Active Directory and the Sundial system to log user logon/logoff events and build reports from the data.
Announcements
The Sundial Announcements module allows the use of the Sundial system to create announcements that can be displayed on the company Intranet. Announcements can be displayed outside of Sundial.
