Export and Resize Picasa 3
Overview
Before you can upload your photos in the Megabytes photo album, you must resize them to the specified sizes. For thumbnails photos should be 100 x 75 and full size photos should be 640 x 480.
Export and Resize
- Open the Picasa program and make sure the photos you wish to use have been imported into Picasa.
- To export only 1 picture, simply click the picture you want. To select multiple photos, do either:
- Hold the CTRL key and click each picture you wish to export.
- Using the mouse, click and highlight the pictures
- To the left of the screen click the Folder of the pictures you want to export. Then click Edit and Select All (This will select all the pictures in that folder only)
- Give the folder a name that you can remember and will make the photos identifiable such as Thumbnails and today's date. Example: Thumbnails2-28-2009 (This makes finding photos for uploading to the Megabytes photo album easier)
- Click OK.
- Picasa will then open the folder you just exported the files to. Close this folder.
- Now that you have your thumbnails, you need to create the fullsize photos. In Picasa, repeat steps 1-3 from above.
- Again, give the folder a name that identifies the photos such as FullSize and today's date.
- Click the radio button next to Resize to: and type 640 in the box next to the word pixels.
- Click OK.
You are now done using Picasa and are ready to upload your photos into your Megabytes photoalbum.
